OUR STORY
Welcome to the TAGB Scotland website.
The TAGB in Scotland came into being in 1984 around one year after the TAGB itself was formed.
Currently, the TAGB has around 25,000 members and 600 schools and is one of the largest single style martial arts organisations in Europe.
Since its inception, TAGB Scotland has gone from strength to strength, offering students the very best in Tae Kwon-Do. TAGB Scotland provides a comprehensive training syllabus including Traditional Tae Kwon-Do, Self Defence, Fitness and Sport Tae Kwon-Do/ Martial Arts.
Over the years, we have produced many competitors who have had great success in the competition environment with many National, International and World Champions in our ranks.
TAGB Scotland aims to be inclusive to all offering, where possible, opportunities for everyone to learn Tae Kwon-Do.
All our instructors are highly qualified, being fully trained and insured and also members of the Disclosure Scotland PVG Scheme. They strive to bring out the best in every student driving each individual student to perform to the best of their ability.

Traditional Tae Kwon-Do
Within the traditional part of the martial art we learn and perform patterns. Taekwondo patterns are used to practice techniques such as kicks, punches and blocks. These develop and improve the students techniques but also helping with building strength, conditioning, balance, and focus.
The traditional element is the main focus of our grading system and is where you will be assessed as you develop through the martial art
Competitive Sparring
Sparring allows us to test our martial art skills against another person in a controlled environment. It teaches us how to use distance to control our attacks and defenses.
It teaches control of emotions how to remain calm under pressure, how to think while you are being attacked. It is a great fitness exercise!
As you develop under your instructors guidance and training you may want to take the opportunity to compete at some of the TAGB's national and international competitions and feel what it's like to compete and win!
National Squad's
With any sport the privilege of competing on an international stage representing your country is second to none. This is something that you could be part of.
You can come along and train and test yourself with the best students from right across Scotland. Of course not everyone makes the team but everyone does get the chance to learn and train in that winning environment.
Ask your instructor for more information.
